Joseph L. Simmons, CMC, EA

President

Joseph L. Simmons is the President of Asset Solutions Corp. Mr. Simmons began his professional career July 1, 1969. He graduated from Christiansburg High School in 1967 and continued his education at Roanoke College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1971. As well as earning a Bachelor’s degree, Mr. Simmons also completed post-graduate work at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University from 1972 to 1975.

In 1981, he became a Certified Management Consultant and has been an Enrolled Agent with the Internal Revenue Service since 1986. Mr. Simmons has also served as Chairman of the Montgomery County School Board and as a management professor at New River Community College. Mr. Simmons authored several courses including "Life Insurance and Federal Income Taxation with Special Emphasis on Transfer of Value," copyrighted in July 1996.

Mr. Simmons also has extensive experience in the valuation and sale of businesses and is routinely engaged to value business interests and testify as an expert witness. Over the course of his career Mr. Simmons has handled numerous tax audits and IRS collection cases. The largest case handled by Mr. Simmons totaled more than $2.0 million and was settled by him for $33,000. In addition to his IRS work, Mr. Simmons has also assisted many clients with qualifying themselves or their elderly parents for Medicaid paid long term nursing care.

Jaimie R. Bolt, EA

Accountant

Jaimie graduated from Floyd County High School in 2001 and began working for Mr. Simmons in May 2001. Prior to working for Mr. Simmons, Jaimie worked at the Bank of Floyd. After several years of experience and training under Mr. Simmons, Jaimie began studying to become an Enrolled Agent. By December of 2008 she sat and passed all examinations required by the Internal Revenue Service in order to become a certified Enrolled Agent.

Jaimie is married to Philip Bolt and they are long term residents of Floyd County.
